After using a Huawei P20 Pro for nigh on two years I decided on a change..
The OnePlus 7 Pro caught my eye so I took the plunge and purchased one....straight away I noticed the difference.
The 90htz refresh rate was super smooth and the on board ram and storage gave me plenty of power to play with (I went for 256gb with 12 ram) so no complaints there, updates seemed to be quick too with Android 10 arriving nearly as quick as the Google phones...if I was to criticize this phone there would be a couple of areas I'd pick out.
Firstly would be the finger print reader..it just wasn't consistent enough (no matter how many times I would re register my finger prints)..it would keep 'losing' them..on the plus side though the face recognition was brill..so thumbs up for that.
Lastly...the camera... while I have received a camera update to sharpen the images,it still is sadly lacking when compared to my Huawei P20 Pro (and that's a 2yr old mobile!?)...I mean the images it produces aren't bad.. but you'll notice the difference when you start to zoom and crop into them, there's a lot of noise....night mode is good, but still isn't up there with the Huawei sad to say...
While I don't totally regret buying a OnePlus (they are a great flagship killer certainly in the price department) I don't think I'll be buying another...it was the camera that let it down for me..all in all it's not a bad phone, just not a great phone in my opinion.
Fantastic phone on special offer nearly £200 cheaper than through OnePlus, 12GB ram is just mad, and 256 GB memory means that this phone is future proof. The screen is great, the finger print sensor is touch and go, but that could be my oily mitts!!, Nice size for watching videos, I personally don't think it's too large, but for smaller hands, could be an issue. Warp charge 30 is insanely quick, no need for wireless charging, however buying a back up charger is necessary, if like me you travel a lot. The motorized selfie camera is great, will see how robust it is. £600 for a phone this good is brilliant, I've gone to pay as you go, and will save £200 over the course of 2 years over getting the phone through my carrier. Just buy it, best Android phone on the market by a long way
After much debate which I put any phone-purchase through I decided to go for this in the black Friday sales.
I absolutely love the phone!! The 90hz screen is fantastic, the feel of the phone is brilliant and it's super fast with anything I do. The full display is the main selling point to me and it doesn't let up. Not having a notch is brilliant.
The only thing I don't like is the quality of the wide angle lens. At nighttime shots can seem a bit grainy but using the normal camera the photos are brilliant!
Software is very well made too. I like the iPhone X style controls on this albeit iOS do it slightly better.
You won't be disappointed with this phone!!
After my last oneplus device 5T Oneplus deliver a truly top quality and performing flagship smartphone.
Battery life is solid working all time with 2k resolution and 90hz
Amazing top quality screen
Very attractive design
Superior stereo speakers performance
And Oxygen is by far my favority skin with exception stability and smoothness, not to mention the huge developer support on custom rom,mod tweaks from xda from anyone one to get even much more customization.
It's been frustrating since it has been weeks since I've reported the issue and none of their troubleshooting worked for me. First they said it might be the screen protector, so I removed my newly bought one (waste of money) and it was still there. Then they said to refresh the cache of the phone, then a total reset. All of these bothersome steps but still the issue is exist. I've always updated my phone to the latest software so that's not the problem.
Overall very disappointed and dissatisfied with the product. I've always been a OP user since the 3T and this is the first time regretting buying OP. To think that they cant resolve the issue is frustrating.
Battery life is good. Two days from full charge with medium usage throughout both days.
Camera quality is very good. Applies to both front and back facing cameras.
Durability seems good so far. Been dropped a few times with no cracks, scratches or breaks on the screen or phone itself, which I was worried would happen with the curved screen edges. This is with the supplied cover that comes with the phone.
Software is good. Not many proprietary, 3rdparty, undeletable apps that seem to come with many android phones these days.
Small slider on the side to switch between silent, ring, and vibrate is very handy.
Lack of headphone jack is unfortunate.
Plenty of storage, haven't come close to running out of space. Was disappointed at first that there was no SD card slot, but there's more than enough storage without it.
