Back lighting on my screen is not perfect. I have one light stronger than the others on the bottom left of the screen but can live with it. You can turn the contrast up and pretty much get rid of it.
I've linked it up to an LG 34 inch gaming monitor and it's amazing. This laptop is an absolute bargain.
It is lightweight too.
I did a lot of research before I purchased this laptop and I am not disappointed.
I moved from an Apple laptop MacBook Pro.
What is cool is that when you plug in an external keyboard - when you turn on number lock it also activated the laptop number keypad.
I went on YouTube and easily upgraded the ram to 16gb ram which is recommended. I can't say it was hugely different to having 8gb ram and the laptop is not significantly quieter either so I will probably upgrade to 32gb in a few months.
I find the laptop is quiet loud but the fan control works well.
The fact you can upgrade the laptop so easily really is a huge bonus.
At the end of the day, it truly is a bargain for the money!

I looked at laptops for months before deciding on a replacement for my old second hand HP, I play games and I use Office a lot, I wanted a good quality screen, good battery life and enough horsepower to allow me to play the latest games, currently Generation Zero, great concept, beta quality game (even now). On paper this laptop is a beast RTX2060 6GB, 512GB PCIe card with a spare 2.5" bay that I stuck a 1TB drive in, all good. The build quality is good, the backlit keyboard gets annoying, the screen is sharp, but give it something to work on and the fan noise gets really loud, I have read other reviews that calls this heat throttling, it can't deliver its full performance because it gets too hot, well great I didn't sign up for that. I does run games OK but I end up using headphones to hide the noise. The speakers are good quality and the volume control is sufficient. Windows 10 has been crashy with driver issues, I regularly update everything but I think there's probably some clash between the on-board AMD graphics and the RTX which has its own drivers. Biggest gripe is battery life, after 2 hours working on a word document it was struggling and the endless ASUS memory resident programs probably don't help. The paper specs on this laptop promise a lot, the real thing falls quite a bit short. Is it worth it? well I don't expect a new laptop to crash once a week and I don't like the way it gets very noisy when its asked to work is that really the best engineering solution for a £1K laptop? But it looks nice and I can forgive it after an hours gaming, but value for money? 3 stars.

Decent specs for the money and a good little machine. The 2060 gpu works will and gives solid frame rates, but when in turbo mode sounds like a jet plane taking off. Keyboard decent but the touch pad buttons are also touch sensitive, so whilst this enlarges the touch pad area it means the cursor can be inadvertently moved when trying to click if you are not precise. Battery life terrible if gaming which is to be expected with a gpu of this nature. Not so bad in Windows when it uses the onboard gpu instead. It's a bit stingy on the port front too, three usb, network, hdmi and headphone jack and that's your lot. All are located on the left hand side. The 500gb M.2 SSD isnt the fastest but can be upgraded, and there is a spare slot to install an additional 2.5” drive. Overall I'm pretty happy.

TERRIBE EXPERIENCE!!! When it arrived, I had started it up and the monitor wasnt working.
I had no other choice but to send it for repair to Amazon. Once I got it back it was working perfectly. However, fast forward a couple of months later, the monitor started blinking randomanly. I did everything I could to handle the issue but it just check happening. As a result, I had to send it back.

there are many things wrong with this laptop, at least with the ryzen 5 3550H versions that I had:

The fan curve was non-existent, at 40C the fans would turn on and at 50C they were at full blast.
the fans are really loud.
performed very bad at games because sometimes the laptop would not use the discrete GPU for some reason.
drivers were a mess, took a long time to get everything sorted.
weird noises either coming from the fans on the motherboard could be heard

just overall bad experience. would recommend not going cheap on this kind of stuff and would rather pay more to get another better laptop

Hello want to say that this laptop is extremely good after I bought it next day I upgraded it to 32gb ddr4 memory and a 2tb hard drive. The performance is very good on this laptop and it's got a very efficient cooling system while paying any game at the highest settings it never went above 75 degrees Celsius so very very good cooling I recommend this laptop but recommend also to upgrade it after buying to take advantage of it's maximum performance. I used Kingston hyper X 32gb (16+16) and a 2tb Seagate firecuda gaming sshd.
