Happy with the purchase. Super light and small. Easy to travel with. Have been using it for over 3 months and haven't encountered any issue.
This was my first ASUS laptop and honestly love it. Great build, design, lovely screen and good speakers. The ONLY thing I dislike is the location and size of the shift key but I'm getting used to it and to be honest, its not a deal breaker. I would definitely recommend this laptop, best light weight laptop I have purchased in years.
For anyone wondering, I use this laptop for uni, I study computer science and its perfect for me, I previously had an Alienware laptop but decided to change, I was originally thinking to get dell xps 13 but I noticed it had some thermal issues and a friend recommended ASUS and took a gamble, which paid off.
Very portable, a few things I wish were better are screen brightness and keyboard layout, the on button is right next to delete button
This is everything I wished for! Sleek and light, makes is extremely portable, even in my handbag I can hardly know is there. Extremely responsive and very very quick, so easy to set up! I love it!! Amazon made it extremely affordable by paying in instalments, definitely a great purchase.
I chose this laptop over the 1.09kg variant, due to this one having discrete graphics and weighing just 1.12kg. I have plenty to carry about with me, so weight is key. Everything about my research suggested all should be OK.
On receipt, the machine ran incredibly hot with the fan on permanently. Not good.
Additionally, I immediately felt sure that this felt quite a lot over 1kg. True enough, I weighed it and whatever they sent me was not what was advertised. It weighed in at over 1.22kg.
If I was shopping for a 1.22kg laptop, I would not have bought this.
Currently waiting for my refund on this, having had to send it back to Amazon at my own expense due to their chosen courier repeatedly claiming to have attempted pick-up and not doing so.
Given the appalling return experience, I really hesitated before placing the order for the machine I was originally going to go for (the i7 1.09kg variant). But I thought surely this one would be right? Again, I looked up the model number, all checked out OK. I went ahead.
Got the machine, first things first... weight. Surely this would be 1.09kg as it was supposed to be??.... NOPE. 1.14kg!!
Worse still, the screen all washed out with tons of ghosting. And a trackpad that stalls, judders, moves the cursor all on its own.
The retailer may also have some explaining to do as to why something that is supposedly new came with the laptop not in its packaging sleeve and in a box with dispatch stickers from a third party company called Tech Data.
Another return and refund request. As of today, YET AGAIN their courier has not called. I managed to track down a phone number for Hermes and the courier has claimed the parcel was not ready for collection!!
More fool me for trusting the first experience (for which I have had only the glibbest of apologies) was a one off.
More fool me for shopping with Amazon for anything of consequence. Looked like a bargain. More than proved a false economy and the misery involved in trying to get any of this resolved is just not worth it.
I use the laptop mainly for internet access, news, information and entertainment. The model I bought was £1 shy of £600,
Getting the laptop out of its packaging it looks cheap and feels cheap. It doesn't feel well made, and, as fate would have it, the top of the "M" key has fallen off already (I've had it for 1 week). It is therefore being returned for repair.
The screen is not very good, It's pretty dull with very poor viewing angles.
Battery life too is very poor, difficult to put an average on it, but possibly 3-4 hours.
In it's favour it is very light. It boots up very quickly and seems quite smooth in operation.
I couldn't in all conscience recommend this laptop due to it's shoddy construction and appalling screen.
