Yes Weber BBQs are expensive, but you really do get what you pay for. Mine lasted 10 years before I bought a new one. Get one, you won't regret it.

I'm a big BBQ fan and have numerous BBQ's and smokers. I am also a professional chef.
Weber sent me one of these recently with 3 bags of briquettes, 3 packs of lighter cubes A chimney starter, and 2 different types of smoke chips, pecan and mesquite.
It was very easy to assemble, I immediately noticed the build quality of the parts. It's a Weber so I wouldn't expect anything less than pure quality. When I posted a picture of the package Weber sent me to my Facebook page a lot of fans said they also had Weber BBQ's, one said she has hers for 16 years and it is still going strong.
I release a monthly magazine, this month's was a BBQ issue so over a period of 1 week I cooked 49 dishes on this. The BBQ itself was great and allowed me to cook each dish to perfection which was important as each dish was used in a photo shoot before, during and after cooking it.
I did everything from legs of lamb, legs of pork, ribs, lobster, crab, prawn skewers, corn etc and was delighted with the results.
I have used Weber for many years so wasn't surprised at the build quality and results I got from very little effort or supervision of the actual cooking. The thing that really surprised me was how good the Weber Briquettes were, 4 hours after lighting them and cooking different meats, the internal temperature was at 200°c with the lid on. I've never seen and charcoal maintain so much heat for so long before.
If you can't justify spending this much on a BBQ then let me ask you... if you spent half that amount on a cheaper brand then how long would you expect the products life to be? By investing in a Weber you may have to spend more, however, in the long run, you will spend far less as it will outlast the cheaper one by many years.
I own a very popular food magazine and am a very well know chef so get any cooking equipment and even cooking ingredients I want for free.
Weber have never paid me for a positive review, I don't sell positive reviews for any amount of money, however they did give me a free BBQ though did not ask me to review it.
My fans know I have no issue slating a product if I think it is bad.
If you don't want to spend this much on a BBQ then buy a smaller model just make sure it is a Weber. If you can afford this model then I highly recommend you get it.

Was reluctant to pay £200 (BBQWorld) for a charcoal BBQ, after a series of supermarker £20-40 items. As you'd expect you get a far superior product for the extra money - tank like build quality, excellent design but most of all it really works. First outing with Weber's own briquettes saw a medium chicken (indirectly) cooked to perfection in 80 minutes, and followed up by burgers and belly pork on direct heat method ; there's just enough grille space over the indirect heat charcoal baskets to cook enough for 4 people after the chicken. After 2 hours the BBQ was still reaching 200'F on the original coals. For direct heating only you could happily cook for 90 minutes for a party of 8-10 people with the coals spread normally on the grate.

The chimney starter is a great accessory - newspaper at the base, 2/3 fill with coals, light and 15 minutes later perfect ashen charcoal for cooking.

Overall very happy with my purchase (including the £55 of extras I've since bought - tools, chimney starter, mitt etc)
