The Samsung UE55NU8000 55-Inch Dynamic Crystal Colour 4K Ultra HD Certified HDR 1000 Smart TV is a honking great TV. It's got all the bells and whistles and then some!

In fact, it does so much, I'm not sure exactly what it does other than show a crystal clear image and throw out some impressive sounds.

Bottom line, the wife likes it, she likes it a lot. Reason enough to buy it I suppose...

Bought this TV in January and initially the picture was pretty good and very crisp and clear. After a while though I noticed that when there was dark scenes the picture had a sort of bloom to it and it was quite hard to see what was going on. I tried tweaking the settings with no success and after checking forums couldn't find the issue was replicated. I tried to ignore this fault as I had been ill for quite a while but since I've started to wear glasses it's become increasingly annoying. I tried to contact Samsung through their email form online but every time I entered the Captcha code the web page would close. I've also tried calling them but after 3 attempts of explaining the issue to their offshore call centre I've given up. The warranty is up soon so unless their is some sort of miracle I cant see the problem being fixed.

Like it says in the title, really happy with it.
Picture quality is amazing when playing 4k content, HDR is also really nice.
Awesome paired with a Samsung smartphone, there are a lot of things you can control.
A myriad of apps to choose from, Netflix, Spotify and so on. You can also play movies from a memory stick which is nice.
The only real issue I found in 6 months of use is the smart remote. Althoug an awesome way to control the TV, it frequently does not want to connect to the TV and you need to perform a reconnect.

Overall very very happy with my TV

Even if it's not the latest model, I preferred to buy it after reading tons of reviews. Picture quality is great when the image is bright enough, unfortunately when it's dark the local dimming is pretty terrible, and the screen is getting too dark. There should be a way to disable it in the settings (not in a hidden service menu). Another thing I really dislike is the motion filter in place, that alsocannot be removed. Except for these defects, is a great set, brighter scenes shines with color and details, aspecially with 4k content

My tv arrived with a really tiny chip in the centre of its screen. Light was shining through it when switched on. It sadly had to be sent back. I'd been watching this tv for weeks waiting for it to go down in price. I was over the moon when I secured one. It unfortunately could not be replaced. It was collected by arrow xl arranged by amazon. I still have not received confirmation of its return which took place weeks ago. It has also cost me a considerable amount to find a replacement elsewhere. A brilliant tv but sadly a really disappointing and stressful experience.

This product is very poorly built and the display failed after only two weeks of use. Despite clearly demonstrating the fault to their customer support and being under statutory warranty Samsung has done nothing to fix it. Their call centre staff are very patronising. I have made a formal complaint. If I could give it zero stars I would.
