I've actually bought these two like 4 years ago. Yes, it was 2016, now it's 2020.. I've always used them, sometimes permanently, sometimes at need, sometimes they've failed but in four years it happened a reasonable amount of times. Unfortunately right now, when I really need them to work reliably, sometimes they freeze. One is connected to the modem, the oter to the router on the other side of the room, providing internet to the whole house. I've turned it off and back on again, and it started working again but this is happeneing quite often, at least a couple of times a week. If I don't tought them, after a while it starts working again. Also, I've never, ever see the testspeed get over 80 Mbit, there are tons of factors affecting speed but it's strange since they should work well over 80 Mbit. Unfortunately I don't know if they were freezing in the beginning, but I have the feeling that, if you want something reliable and stable, working at a high speed you should chose something a bit more expensive.

I purchased the 406E/410AP twin-pack in order to extend the wifi coverage in my home. The following issues were discovered:
1. The 406E would not sync with the 410AP. Eventually I used an existing 406E to sync both of them to the existing network, after which the new 406E worked as a master without further problems.
2. Logging into the 410AP was a hit-and-miss experience. Sometimes it worked, sometimes not, even with an unchanged IP address for the connected PC.
3. The 410AP worked well for the first 2 months, after which it intermittently became "unknown" to other devices on its wifi network. One of these devices reported that it was not being assigned an IP address so could not connect.

I had intended to further extend wifi coverage by at least one further 410AP, but have now thought better of it. I shall be installing wifi range extenders instead, hopefully with a more positive result.

Have got fibre-optic connection to broadband router located downstairs. Had a bedroom where wi-fi connection to the router frequently dropped to very low figure (sometimes as slow as 2 or 3 Mbps). Not sure what was causing the interference so thought I'd try the TRENDnet powerline 500 AV as it seemed reasonably priced compared to some other products. Plugged in the powerline devices, as per instructions, and waited for them to establish a connection. It took longer than I expected, so after 5 minutes I just walked away and left it. Came back some time later and the 'data' lights were both illuminated. Connected wi-fi devices to the new wi-fi hot spot and it all appears to work fine. Wi-fi download speed in the problematic bedroom is frequently better than 40 Mbps. Not seen worse than 25 Mbps.

Hi All,

I wanted to post somewhere on the Web something that had puzzled me for a while and I have finally got round to testing it out fro myself and can confirm my findings here, hopefully someone else will find it useful in future.

So, I had 2 x TP-LINK AV-600s and they were OK. However my son has got more into online gaming and was constantly complaining about his speed and ping. He was getting about 20mbps down, 4mbps up and 40 ping. He'd managed with it for a while, it was kinda OK, but he was complaining that people with faster connections and lower pings were causing him to lose a lot more than he should so I said I would see what i could do to help.

Upgrading to 1200 seemed the only real way to improve, I tried everything else already, but I wondered if changing only the sender would increase the speed without replacing the receiver. Do you know what, it absolutely did.

So now hes getting 40 mbps down, 6 mbps up and only 20 ping, so everything's approximately double what it was!

I fully appreciate that I could possibly get faster speed with two, but actually I doubt I would, I think the speed is ultimately limited by the wiring you have and there is nothing practical I can do to change that.

Pleased with my purchase, got the wanted result and cost half the price of buying a new kit with 2 in it!

I have been struggling with the WiFi adaptor in our home office for weeks, having to keep resetting the adaptor. It's probably a Windows 10 issue so din't want to throw hardware at it to find it wasn't fixed.
Finally bought these and not only do I have a solid connection, it took minutes to install and my speed test went from 21.9Mbps to 30.6.

Going to get another now with WiFi to solve the dead spot on our patio and give the dining room TV a better chance of streaming HD content.

I have a grade II listed property that is made up of two small cottages joined together to make one, with walls that are 2 feet thick. That means we have the nuisance of an extra barrier in the middle of the house that stops wifi signals getting through easily to the other half. These adapters allow the signal at the incoming router to be pushed onto the house electric wiring and then to be capable of being extracted at any 3 pin wall socket via the use of a further adapter. That then allows data to be used directly using cat5e or cat6 cable or to be used as the input source for separate wifi by being passed to a wifi router for distribution. This works OK most of the time but sometimes the connection is dropped and the fibre router may need to be restarted and then the powerline adapters allowed to catch up and resynchronise. On balance it is mostly functional and reliable with few gotchas at high speeds.
