We have Virgin Media 1Gb Broadband and we also have a lot of devices that require an Ethernet connection downstairs, and upstairs.
We had an old hub, which would provide connectivity to most of the devices downstairs and we found that we were suddenly losing speed, it was dropping from 1Gb download speed on everything downstairs to 200Mb, but everything upstairs was still getting 1Gb download speeds, the devices upstairs are fed via a ethernet cable through the wall, up the outside wall and in to a room where there is a 16 port switch.
I had some spare cables but they were old cables, we tried swapping the cables and it helped for a few days but the speeds would drop again downstairs.
Bought this new hub and some new cables, connected it all up and the speed downstairs have not dropped since.
Eventually I plan to upgrade the network in the house to 10G but for those devices that won't need it, this will work fine for them and will guarentee they always receive the max speed they can.
Very happy with it and easily recommended.

This little 5 port network switch fixed my console Lagg and improved overall performance of my console menus and download speeds are finally fast. I have a xbox one and ps4 side by side and wireless gaming was terrible, constant Lagg in games like fortnite, call of duty, rocket league, etc. Download speeds of just over 2mb/s it sucked and when both consoles are on my Lagg would be insane with a ping over 700 at times. I needed a cheap fix and this switch worked perfectly.
You will need to buy extra ethernet cables as you get none with this. In the box you get the 5 port switch and a power adapter that is all its a full plastic build but feels quality, I connected mine to a 30 meter ethernet cable which is also connected to my talktalk WiFi hub modem the other end of my house, then the 2 consoles and my 4k tv are now connected to the 5 port network switch and so far no issues at all, me and my partner play online games with no more Lagg or ping issues, downloads are super fast and I get the full download speed on both consoles at the same time, it's nice to finally have no bandwith wireless issues and we can enjoy gaming together ;) the 4k TV also plays 4k content with no issues using this network/ethernet switch.
The best part is, you open the box take out the switch and power supply plug it in along with the ethernet cables for your devices and that's it done it just works no complicated setups it's done.
For me this get a solid 10/10 well worth £6.99 and its also tiny so it's easy to hide out the way ;) highly recommended.

I was suffering from some bits of kit hogging the bandwidth, but this little beauty cured that.
The Easy Smart Configuration is quite simple to follow for a basic setup of the switch. However, things do get quite technical, so beware that this kit is not for those who are not familiar with setting up IT / Communications equipment. That said, the User Guides are very good.
I've had this kit in now for 3 years, and was so impressed with the 8 port device that I bought another one - which my Son 'borrowed' when I bought a 16 port version of the same switch.
Would I recommend it? Yes, but with the caveat that you need to have some understanding of how to configure such devices if you want to get the most out of it as it's a very clever bit of kit.

I needed a gigabit Ethernet switch to pair with a WAVLINK mesh WiFi system, as the latter was effectively replacing the router functions of our Virgin Media Hub 3, and I needed as many wired Ethernet ports as I could get!
In short: this switch is very affordable, solidly-built (metal case), performs reliably and the speed seems to be excellent throughout. No complaints at all, at least for now :-)

Easy to install; but at first could not find the power-on led. It is in the middle of one of the bigger faces, so if you want to fix it with double sided tape (see below) you may not see it. Should be near the power supply socket?
It is very small and light so could use some means of fixing to a surface. Mine just dangles on the cables.
5 ports?: yes but , it has 5 sockets but you use one to connect the input cable from your router. So that means you can only attach 4 devices.

Just what I needed - well almost. Took ages to try to find a non 19in Ethernet switch, and thought this would fit my (either old or outdated) ethernet rack. And while this is compact it is still just a few mm too wide. No fault of the product which for an unmanaged switch works superbly.
Works out of the box and now getting ultrafast to all my mesh nodes in a house that has very thick walls - and Wi-fi alone wasn't quite managing. Now I get great speed in every room. (3Linksys velop nodes for a 2500sq foot house)

This item was sold as a high speed hub. Well as far as I am concerned it is NOT. With only one connection plugged in, it immediately compromised my Internet speed and rendered the high speed link useless for my purposes. Also note the design is not for my use fit for purpose, previous TP Link hubs have a power socket at the side allowing you to have the box with all the plugs and leads facing away from you this hubs design makes that impossible you either have to wrestle with loads of plugs and cable to have them facing you which is really ugly or look at an equally ugly mains connection sticking out on the back. A side mains connection makes all this cable mess redundant!0 Comment

Bought this 24 port Gigabit network switch after alot of searching. I use this for my home network. I literally connected it to my Virgin broadband router and plugged in all the cat 6 Ethernet cables. This worked straight away, turned it on, the lights flashed a few times whilst it was configuring itself and then boom wired Internet throughout the house.
I've got 3 x sky q boxes, 2 games consoles, few smart tvs.. And it works well. The switch manages the traffic itself to where its needed.
I've had to reset this once in the time I've owned it. Time will tell about reliability....

My SKY modem only had 2 ethernet ports so bought this bit of kit. It workes great. I was just a bit surprised that it needs plugging into mains socket (must be a my girls brain, thinking this could work without needing power). So takes up an extra socket. But can't fault the product it works great.0 Comment

It's good value for money and works very well. But I have to knock off a star because the LS108G has plastic jacks so does not earth the cable shielding.
While this may not matter in most cases, if you've installed cat6a or cat 7 cable you'll probably be hoping for a switch with metal jacks that connect your cable shielding through to ground, such as the (currently a few quid cheaper) TP-Link TL-SG108S.
